RULES

All teams, players, AND spectators must review and sign off acknowledgement of rules and regulations

30 Minute Games

All games will start and end with the sound of a horn
-
Players are allowed to play for more than one team but can only play for one team per division
-
SAND BAGGING IS NOT ALLOWED
-
Subbing is not allowed
-
Tourney officials reserve the right to move your team to a different division should your team’s level be deemed inappropriate for the division you registered in
-
You may cancel your registration up to two months before the tournament
-
Any team canceling after June 1st, 2024, will forfeit the registration fees
-
FREE AGENTS placed in teams by the organizers will forfeit their registration fees should they choose to not attend the event.

Slap-Shots are NOT allowed
-
Saucer passes below the waist are accepted
-
Bodychecks are NOT allowed
-
Fighting is NOT allowed
-
Teams are limited to 10 players maximum – 9 skaters and 1 goalie
-
EMTs will not be on site during tournament play. A tourney official will contact emergency personnel if the situation warrants it

Lost and Found is located at registration booth. Please approach any tourney representative if a loss happens

All players are completely responsible for their gear and personal items. The tourney is not responsible for any losses or misplacement of hockey gear and/or personal items. Keep your stuff safe!

Full Hockey gear is required to participate in the tournament
-
Any player found without all required gear will not be allowed to play
-
Players must get dressed in designated areas or assigned locker room
-
Teams must respect the established schedule. If a team is not ready to play within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time, the opposing team will take the win by default
-
There will be an Off-Ice Scorekeeper tourney representative per game to monitor play. These representatives are NOT referees but they will keep tabs on any sort of misconduct
-
There will also be one On-Ice Representatives/Referees per game to assist with scorekeeping, puck retrieval, monitor play, etc.

Off-Ice and On-Ice representatives will keep track of all scoring and/or infractions committed
-
Be mindful of committing any sorts of penalties, infractions, or dirty play, we are all here to have fun and play hockey. I promise there are no scouts on the stands!

If tourney officials see a player/team committing infractions, misconduct, excessive penalties, or playing dirty, that team/player will get one warning before they are suspended for that day
-
ANY PENALTY COMMITTED WILL RESULT IN THE DEDUCTION OF A POINT.

ANY FIGHT OR ALTERCATION CAN RESULT IN TEAM EJECTION FROM THE TOURNEY.

Any Major Penalty, which includes any action that could possibly injure a player, will result in the player being ejected from the tourney immediately. The team that received the ejection will play the rest of the game short-handed (2 vs 3) and the ejected player will not be allowed back into the tourney. All remaining games may be played 3 vs 3. Off-ice and On-Ice representatives will determine major penalties

Any abusive and aggressive behavior towards any tourney representative will be considered a major penalty. This includes yelling, arguing, physical contact, and swearing

If a puck goes out of bounds, the last team to touch it loses possession. On-ice representatives will provide a new puck and retrieve the out of bounds puck. During a reset, the defending team must retreat to their defensive zone

There are no off-sides or icing calls
-
Once a goal is scored, the scored against team gets possession of the puck and scoring team must retrieve back to their zone/side of the rink. Remember these are 30-minute games and time moves fast!

Should there be any conflict between Off-Ice scorekeepers and In-Ice representatives/referees, final ruling will fall on On-Ice representatives/referees.

Winning a game will result in earning 3 points, a game that results in in a tie will result in 1 point per team

In the event of a tie during playoffs and/or championship games, the game will move to sudden death format
-
Team captains are the ONLY players to discuss disputes with off-ice and on-ice representatives

Team captain from each team must sign score card after each game
-
All players, participants, and spectators are to respect our promo team (Classy Beauts)

Any individual found disrespecting or behaving inappropriately towards our promo team (Classy Beauts) will be asked to leave the premises and can face game or tournament suspension. Further legal action is expected should an incident like this occur.

Classy Beauts are there to make your experience a flavorful one, they will be there to have fun, mingle, and take pictures with event attendees. Unwanted behavior, inappropriate behavior, and disrespectful behavior will NOT be tolerated.

All players, participants, and spectators are to respect our Vendors

Any individual found disrespecting Vendors will be asked to leave the premises and can face game or tournament suspension. Further legal action is expected should an incident like this occur.

Our Vendors are there to enhance your tournament experience. Unwanted behavior, inappropriate behavior, and disrespectful behavior will NOT be tolerated.

As much as this sucks, NO drinking while playing! Must be 21 years of age to drink alcoholic beverages and only in designated areas.

All alcohol and food must be consumed in the Classy Festival area or Beer Garden. This area was set up for you to have fun, get a couple drinks, eat, and mingle with other players

No outside alcoholic drinks or food is allowed inside of the arena or Festival Area/Beer Garden
-
Any person that is found to be excessively intoxicated will not be allowed inside of the arena. If excessively intoxicated individual is a player, they will be suspended for the day
-
Spectators are allowed to watch the games from the stands however they are not allowed to be in player’s designated dressing area/locker rooms
-
Spectators are allowed in Classy Festival area with the purchase of a weekend or day pass
-
All Spectators are also liable/responsible for their own personal items
-
Any spectator found drinking excessively, causing fights, or violating any of the arena’s regulations will be removed from the arena and not allowed back for the rest of the tourney

All individuals participating in bar/brewery activities and/or outside events are completely responsible for their own actions and safety. The tourney will not be liable for anything that happens outside the arena. This includes excessive drinking at bars, getting arrested, getting injured, getting into fights, death, or engaging in any illegal activities

You are in full understanding that you waive the right to pursue legal action against any involved tourney parties (Organizers, Rink Representatives, Tourney Personnel, Vendors, or others) should you be involved in any fines, arrests, or otherwise, associated with the violation of drinking outside of the labeled area.

You are in full understanding that should any tourney party (Organizers, Rink, Representatives, Vendors, or others) receive a fine(s) or legal infraction(s) associated with your drinking outside of the labeled area, you will be responsible for fulfilling such fine(s) or legal infraction(s).

Furthermore, you are playing willingly, and you are assuming all risks, Classy San Diego Hockey Tourney (Tournament) or San Diego Ice Arena (SDIA), or any of their affiliates, coaches, staff, founders, and personnel, are not responsible for any COVID-19 infection/exposure or variant you may or may not experience during the event.
